Fun Learning at Kinder Readiness Academy

Children learn best when activities are "hands-on." Therefore, most activities introduced to the children incorporate a hands-on attitude. The activities encourage participation and most of all are fun. I believe learning can be made fun through creativity, enthusiasm and a lot of patience, providing a rewarding experience for the child, parent and provider. Because children learn through play, I have a set time for free-play and structured-throughout the day. During structured-play, I primarily only have one group of toys or activity at a time in order to allow the children to focus fully on each thing they do. I strive to provide each child in my care with a balance of play time and more importantly learning experiences that will provoke an eagerness to learn. Each child is given the opportunity to develop at his or her own pace and, in a setting that is safe, enjoyable, challenging and brings a lifelong love of learning.
My goal is to make learning for all ages fun, and non-intimidating by, encouraging laughter and provoking smiles, giving them the assurance that they are safe, loved and secure. For the various age groups of children in my care, I offer a curriculum designed to help each child grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. My goal is to give each child a concrete and well- rounded skill base to ensure they are ready for Kindergarten. I strive to instill creativity and joy in learning; to provide a place where children are encourage to play, express themselves, and challenged to learn.

  • Infant/Young Toddler

For children ages 6 months - 24 months my intent is to give your child a place where they can feel safe, happy and can begin to build confidence and a positive self image. My goal is to stimulate and challenge your infant or toddler by constantly singing, talking, playing, holding and reading to them. I strive to interact with t their level and every sound and movement your child makes is met with a warm response: a word, a smile and touch, thereby, nurturing a foundation for development and helping to enable your child to reach their full potential.

Your baby's first year of life is an amazing time, filled with discovery and tremendous growth. Infants learn an abundance of new skills each day, such as how to imitate sound and facial expressions, reaching, pulling, grasping objects, smiling and laughing. These milestones are key events of an infant's development. They are also building blocks for abilities to come like crawling, walking and talking. As these skills are learned, I encourage problem solving, cooperation, language and social skills. These beginning stages are very important so it is only natural to celebrate and embrace each developmental milestone with love, enthusiasm, persistence and joy. As your child grows and becomes more independent, they begin to make the transition from infant to toddler. Children at this age are inventors, builders, problem solvers, discoverers and dreamers. They learn about the world around them as they take things a part and put them back together. My goal is to give your toddler the necessary tools they need to aid them in accomplishing their goals; thereby, helping to lay the foundation for an intellectual and emotional development to follow.
